The itinerary can be adapted to the abilities of the participants, choosing between an accessible nature walk and a longer hiking route.<\/p>\n<p>Accompanied by an environmental hiking guide, we make our way into the wood to observe the forest landscape, learn about the features of the Alta Murgia and understand the role the forest plays in protecting the land.<\/p>\n<p>The standard route can develop as a ring of about 6-7 kilometres, crossing dirt roads, paths, firebreak tracks and short paved stretches. The Alta Murgia National Park has already used this type of route for its own guided excursions in the Mercadante Forest.<\/p>\n<p>During the walk, shaded areas, clearings, stretches of undergrowth and more open landscapes alternate.
