Votive niches, courtyards, shops and houses built one next to the other accompany the walk towards the main monuments of the city.<\/p>\n<p>The historical itinerary promoted by the City of Bari crosses some of the most representative places of the old town, including Piazza del Ferrarese, the Fortino di Sant&#8217;Antonio, the Basilica of San Nicola, the Cathedral of San Sabino, the Swabian Castle and the Teatro Margherita.<\/p>\n<p>The spiritual centre of the excursion is the Basilica of San Nicola, an important meeting place between the Catholic Christian tradition and the Orthodox one.
